Dr. Kevin Carr, the CEO of Pro2Ceo LLC, formed his company within his 14 years of experience in the NBA to work on “transition as the mission” to help athletes and organizations reach their goals outside of sports. Dr. Carr has changed his focus from just the NBA to the full spectrum of athletes globally.
Dr. Carr continues to assert that the impact of COVID-19 on sports has shifted the environment of play and social issues. Players, coaches, organizations, and individuals throughout the athletic world have shifted fiscal and social motivations to shift the impact on society in a more holistic sense.
In college sports, the NIL (Name, Image, and Likness) transition has permanently altered the space of college athletics due to the ability to make legal income for students, which has not previously been possible. Educating athletes on the business world has now become more relevant because athletes are operating as pseudo-businesses as early as 18-years-old. In fact, formalizing NIL deals in a pre-collegiate space is highly likely as the territory moves younger.
